Eldoradio

The non-profit organisation Eldoradio and its websiteeldoradio.fr (click here) were created by radio aficionados and professionals Joëlle Girard, Bruno Labouré and Philippe Sage on 1st January 2010 with the aim of introducing current and future generations to what has happened on French radio waves before and after the 1981 abolition of state monopoly on radio diffusion. Eldoradio.fr further wishes to address the importance of a key period in French radio history, the so-called ‘Radios Libres’ (Free Radio) era during which the people could express themselves freely and legally on FM waves. Eldoradio.fr is also a social network enabling professionals to create their space and to upload their own archives. Every day, eldoradio.fr adds new material out of a collection of several dozens of thousands of hours of radio programmes, of press articles, images and videos. Every new sound is accompanied by a chronicle giving written by Philippe Sage.
